Awards

A*STARS has been recognised by two prestigious organisations– the Highways Magazine and Modeshift (the specialist national organisation for sustainable travel).

• In October 2012 The A*STARS Programme was runner up in the Road Safety Scheme or Project of the Year category of the Highways Magazine annual awards.
• The A*STARS Programme also won the Pupil-led Campaign of the Year category for the A*STARS Sheriff Scheme at the Modeshift Awards ceremony.
• Since 2010 A*STARS schools have participated in the annual A*STARS Quiz. This has been focused on year 5/6 children. The Mayor of Walsall and other local dignitaries usually attend the final which has previously been held at the Leather Museum and Walsall College. We have now also introduced a year 2 quiz to be held at school level.
